A friend of mine has the above Rotax powered KTM enduro bike, about the same age as my GPZ, and a lot better condition. He's had the engine out for a while, and recently asked if I could give him a hand putting the engine back in.
As the engine went in, more bits of the bike had to be removed to make it fit, sort of a chicken and egg thing going on.
Cook 3 trays of sand at 180 degrees celsius for 1 hour, pour into stainless tube, and form.
Fin.
They were a great donk in a pretty well designed frame, sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe only pain in the ass was that the kickstart and drivetrain are on the wrong side. I had an ex army despatch bike, a rotax powered Armstrong MT500, the kickstart was on the left, but I could only kick it with my right foot, very strange.
